London days. Tower of London
Another place filled with history is the Tower of London. A lot of remarkable events happened there throughout history and it will be a shame if you miss it. Almost a thousand years of history happened between its walls since it was built by William the Conqueror in 1078. The famous Anne Boleyn was executed here and Richard II and Elizabeth I were imprisoned here.
Tourists are invited to start their adventure inside the walls, to enjoy the beautiful crown jewels, to look at the spot where three queens have been decapitated or just to let their imagination wander through the myths and stories surrounding its walls. In the treasury you will see the Imperial Crown and one of the most beautiful diamonds in the world on the scepter of the queen.
In the white tower you will find the armor worn by Henry the VIII and also an impressive weapons collection. If you are not easily scared, visit the exposition of torture devices it will make a powerful impression on you and your holiday.
Another interesting display is the ravens group that lives there. The presence of the ravens is believed to protect the Crown and the Tower. A superstition says that “If the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the Crown will fall and Britain with it.”
