Flower of the Orient – Zakynthos Island

Zakynthos Island was called by the Venetian, the “Flower of the Orient”. It is a large and fertile island and has everything to offer to the visitor: impressive landscapes, endless golden sandy beaches with clear water, a Marine Park for the protection of the sea-turtle Caretta-Caretta, beautiful mountains covered with pine-trees forests, traditional villages, an interesting capital, several animated beach resorts, orthodox churches inspired of the western architectural style, archaeological sites, Venetian castles.

The Shipwreck is the most famous of the beaches of Zakynthos Greece. The beach took it name from the ship that transported illegally cigarettes in 1983, and washed up on the beach which, with the years passing, grew up around it.
